Vibrant Startup and technology summit 2019 December 12, 2019 - December 14, 2019
PDPU IIC participated at the Vibrant Startup and Technology Summit 2019 organised by GESIA in association with the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat held on 12th-14th December, 2019. It was a platform to provide experiential learning and networking opportunities for start-ups and aspiring entrepreneurs. In the two stalls of PDPU IIC, 10 of our startups showcased their work and 6 of them won various awards at the summit.
Let’s Hack 2.0 November 29, 2019 - November 30, 2019
PDPU IIC in association with School of Technology, PDPU organized another hackathon, PDPU’s in-house hackathon, ‘Let’s Hack 2.0’ on 29 - 30 November 2019. This time it was for all the technology students of PDPU. This hackathon was a pre-event to maximize participation from PDPU for the state hackathon organised by Government of Gujarat, Education Department under SSIP. The 91 student teams, i.e. 533 participants worked on 65 problem statements listed by the State government collected from industry and academia with 46 faculty mentors supporting them throughout the event to refine their ideas and build a sustainable solution. It resulted in 12 teams being awarded in different categories.
Student Idea Connect 2019- Hiramani School October 21, 2019
Student Idea Connect 2019 was an initiative taken up by PDPU IIC, to support student innovators by providing them an opportunity to learn and experience entrepreneurship at an early stage. PDPU IIC organised the event at Hiramani School on 21st October 2019 with an aim to help school students, those who are curious about knowing entrepreneurship, to gain valuable insights, giving shape to their raw ideas so that they can connect and develop their ideas at a young age and get a chance to start and run their own company. This initiative tried to arouse the mind of 10+ teams, i.e. 55+ students from 8th and 9th grade that participated in the event.
Let's Hack 1.0: Hackathon 2019 for CS/ICT September 06, 2019 - September 07, 2019
PDPU IIC in association with School of Technology, PDPU, GESIA and Computer Society of India organized the first in-house hackathon of PDPU: Let’s Hack 1.0 for CS and ICT students on 6th - 7th September 2019. This hackathon was aimed at building solutions to the problem statements shared by industry and academia. The Hackathon witnessed a total of 62 teams, i.e. 300 participants working for 24 hours non-stop, on 18 different problem statements to build working prototypes. A team of 20 mentors from industry and academia guided the students throughout the hackathon and a panel of 6 industry experts assessed each project to announce 6 winning teams.
The Unicorn Pitch May 04, 2019
PDPU IIC in collaboration with a PDPU club ‘Bulls and Bears’, the finance and economic cell hosted The Unicorn pitch on 4th May 2019. The Unicorn Pitch provided a platform for next-generation and impactful entrepreneurs, who have the vigor to take risks, stand against the odds and are daring to create a Unicorn Venture. Out of 100+ applications received across India, 18 were shortlisted for the final pitch session at PDPU, and the Top three pitches were offered incubation support at PDPU IIC.
Transcreativity workshop by Mr. Amar Gargesh April 18, 2019 - April 20, 2019
PDPU IIC in association with School of Technology hosted a three-day Transcreativity Workshop from 18th to 20th April 2019, conducted by Mr. Amar Gargesh specially for Mtech Students of PDPU. Transcreavity is an experiential learning of the best creative and customer satisfaction practices from successful activities that are 'Designed by Man, for Man'. It consisted of activities ranging from dance, dramatics, dream analysis, martial arts to pottery conducted by experts from respective fields to teach the participants about innovation, value creation, and customer centricity.
Gujarat Industrial Hackathon 2019 April 06, 2019 - April 07, 2019
The Education Department, Government of Gujarat has taken a series of initiatives to design and develop innovation processes and ecosystems across its affiliated colleges and universities. At state level, SSIP is pioneering a series of interventions and Gujarat Hackathon is an annual flagship program where young students can leverage their technical skills to solve real life challenges posed by various stakeholders. PDPU was given the opportunity to host the final round of “Gujarat Industrial Hackathon 2019” on 6th -7th April 2019. Gujarat industrial hackathon is a 36 hour non-stop event wherein the participants work continuously on problem statements given by various industries. The event was managed by a team of 100+ volunteers.Around 200 problem statements from 154 MSME industries of Gujarat were collected for this hackathon that were worked upon by 153 teams, i.e. 950+ students from all across the state. It resulted in 18 teams winning awards in different categories.
Business Incubator Management Program by Mr. Tony Bailetti and Mr. Eduardo Bailetti February 12, 2019 - February 15, 2019
PDPU IIC with the support of the Industries Commissionerate (IC) department was able to successfully conduct the Business Incubation Management Program, a 4-day training program aimed at increasing the understanding and know-how of the business incubation process of the business incubation stakeholders in the state of Gujarat. It was designed to address topics that apply to the full spectrum of business incubator managers, from newly appointed ones to seasoned professionals. The program was offered by experts associated with the Canada India Centre for Excellence at Carleton University, Mr. Tony Bailetti and Mr. Eduardo Bailetti, and it was attended by 20 incubator managers.
Startup Showcase at International Universities Conclave at PDPU January 18, 2019
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University hosted the “International Universities Conclave 2019” on the sidelines of Vibrant Gujarat 2019 on 18th January, 2019. As a part of the showcase, the Start-ups from PDPU IIC showcased their products at the exhibition. Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon’ble Education Minister of Gujarat; Smt. Anju Sharma, IAS; Smt. Avantika Singh, IAS and the delegates of the conclave from industry and overseas interacted with the startups and innovators shared their perspective and appreciated their ideas as well as the efforts of PDPU IIC in fostering entrepreneurship & Innovation amongst young minds.
